Backstage with Make-up Studio at fashion show Hans UbbinkJust one week before the start of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week, on Monday 16 January, Dutch fashion insiders attended the fall/winter 2012 fashion show of Dutch top designer Hans Ubbink. Location: Gashouder at Westergas Fabriek Amsterdam. Head of make-up was Marc Lubach who recently started working together with Make-up Studio. Marc, who created the four visuals in the Dutch Brand Store, and a team of Make-up Studio make-up artists were responsible for the looks of the sixteen female and ten male models. As of 1 PM the models entered the backstage area to get ready for the show. A few weeks earlier, both Marc and Hans Ubbink decided what would be the look for the show. In an interview with Chris Brouwer from the website Styletoday Hans Ubbink said: "The look for the show is a matter of team work. After having explained the general idea the make-up artist and hair stylist involved come up with ideas for the looks. I have been working with Marc for several years now, so I know I can trust him with that. For this show ‘heritage’ with a modern twist was the idea. I have played a little with classical looks and have turned them into something new with a rough edge." Marc decided to create dark eyes with long round false lashes for a 'doll' effect. A subtle blush on the cheeks and deep red coloured lips completed the look. At 6.30 PM it was time for the rehearsals, followed by a quick 'touch up' of the make-up before the models finally entered the catwalk. At 9 PM the show started in a crowded Gashouder.
